Windows Hello is a feature in Windows 10 that allows users to log into the operating system using biometric authentication, such as facial recognition, fingerprint, or a PIN. Way 1. Disable Windows Hello Through Settings

First, you can disable Windows Hello pin in your Settings. Here’s the step-by-step tutorial:

Step 1: Press the Windows + I keys together to open Settings.

Step 2: Choose Accounts and select Sign-in options on the left panel.

Step 3: On the right side, click Remove underthe Windows Hello section.

After completing all the steps, you have successfully disabled Windows Hello. However, some users may find that there is no Windows Hello option in Windows settings. For such a situation, to disable Windows Hello, you can try other methods.

Way 2. Disable Windows Hello by Group Policy

The next way to disable Windows Hello you can try is via Group Policy. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run box.

Step 2: Type gpedit.msc in the box and click on OK to continue.

Step 3: Navigate to this path: Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Logon.

Step 4: Double-click on Turn on convenience PIN sign in on the right side.

Step 5: Click Disable in the pop-up window and click on Apply > OK to save the changes.

Step 6: Then, disable other Windows Hello options. After that, exit the Group Policy window and reboot your computer to check whether Windows Hello is disabled.

If your computers are connected to Azure Active Directory, you need to disable the "Use Windows Hello for Business" setting in gpedit.msc. To do this, navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Hello for Business. Once there, locate the "Use Windows Hello for Business" option on the right side and set it to "Disabled".

Way 3. Disable Windows Hello with Registry

To disable Windows Hello, you can also do that via Registry. Do the following:

Modifying the registry can be a risky thing. Therefore, please back up the registry before proceeding.

Step 1: Press the Windows key and R key together to open the Run dialog.

Step 2: Type regedit in the box and click on OK.

Step 3: Navigate to the path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PolicyManager\default\Settings\AllowSignInOptions.

Step 4: In the right panel, double-click the DWORD entry named value and set it to 0.

Step 5: Reboot your computer and check if the Windows Hello is disabled.
